The HEAT CONTROLLER MARS-85020 is a liquid tight, flexible non-metallic 90-degree elbow connector designed for conduit routing in HVAC installations. Constructed from PVC, this fitting provides a watertight seal where flexible conduit changes direction at a right angle. The 1/2-inch trade size suits common low-voltage and line-voltage wiring runs found in residential and light commercial HVAC equipment. Licensed electricians and HVAC technicians install this connector where standard rigid fittings are impractical due to vibration, tight clearances, or equipment that requires service access.
This connector is suited for HVAC applications requiring flexible conduit terminations at enclosures, equipment panels, or junction boxes. The 90-degree angle eliminates the need to manually bend flexible conduit, reducing installation time and minimizing stress on conductors routed through tight spaces. It is commonly used on condensing units, air handlers, and other HVAC equipment where liquid tight flexible non-metallic conduit is the specified wiring method.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement fitting for use with 1/2-inch liquid tight flexible non-metallic conduit in HVAC electrical wiring applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or HVAC technician in accordance with NEC Article 356 governing liquid tight flexible nonmetallic conduit. De-energize all circuits at the breaker before working on any conduit termination. Hand-tighten the connector onto the conduit and use appropriate pliers or a strap wrench to achieve a secure, liquid tight connection without cracking the PVC body. Do not overtighten, as PVC fittings are not designed to withstand the same torque as metallic connectors.
