Product Description

The HEARTHRITE HRW17TL is a vent-free infrared and radiant gas heater rated at 17,100 BTU/h, designed for supplemental space heating without the need for a flue or venting system. Running on liquid propane (LP), it operates at 99.9% thermal efficiency because no heat escapes through a vent. The unit uses a standing pilot ignition and thermostatic control to maintain set room temperatures automatically. A factory-installed Oxygen Depletion Sensor (ODS) shuts the heater down before oxygen levels drop to an unsafe threshold. Every unit is test-fired at the factory before shipment. Wall mounting hardware is included; an optional floor stand kit is also available.

The HRW17TL is suited for residential supplemental heating in rooms where a permanent venting system is not practical or desired. Because it operates without electricity, it continues to provide heat during a power outage. It is intended for installation by a certified gas technician in compliance with all applicable local codes. Propane models must be operated with a minimum 100-pound LP tank and an external regulator supplying between 11.0 and 14.0 inches water column (WC) inlet pressure. This heater is not available for shipment to California.

Compatibility

The HRW17TL is a liquid propane model only and requires an external regulator with an output of 11.0 to 14.0 inches WC and a minimum 100-pound LP tank. It is not compatible with natural gas supply lines.

Installation Notes

Installation must be performed by a certified gas technician in accordance with local codes and the applicable sections of the IFGC. Before servicing or installing, shut off the LP supply at the tank valve and confirm zero pressure at the appliance connection. Maintain the required clearances: 36 inches to the ceiling above, 3 inches to the floor below, and 8 inches to any side wall. All repairs must be performed by a qualified service contractor; field modification of gas controls or orifices is not permitted.
