The HARVEY TOOL RSB1870-C3 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in tight-tolerance applications. Built to a 0.1870 inch diameter with a tolerance of +0.0002 to -0.0000 inches, this tool delivers consistent, accurate bores in the miniature range. The 4-inch overall length and 1-inch straight flute keep the tool rigid during operation. An AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting ferrous and hardened materials. Four right-hand cutting flutes generate clean, consistent surface finishes. This reamer is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes.
The RSB1870-C3 fits into the Harvey Tool Miniature Reamers series, targeting applications that require close hole tolerances in small-diameter bores. Typical use cases include reaming pilot holes, dowel pin holes, and precision fit bores in metals such as steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and hardened alloys. The straight cylindrical shank seats directly in standard collet chucks and drill chucks without adapters. This tool is suited for production environments and prototype shops where hole geometry and surface finish are critical to part function.
Designed as an OEM-style precision cutting tool within the Harvey Tool Miniature Reamers series, compatible with standard straight-shank collet chucks and drill chucks sized for the 3/16 inch shank diameter.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with rotating cutting tools. Secure the straight cylindrical shank firmly in a collet or drill chuck before operation, and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting critical bores. Power down the machine and lock out energy sources before changing or inspecting the reamer. Follow shop-standard feeds and speeds for solid carbide reamers in the workpiece material being cut, and use appropriate cutting fluid to manage heat and chip evacuation.
