The HARVEY TOOL RSB1575-C3 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in tight-tolerance machining applications. Built to 0.1575 inches in diameter with a 3-inch overall length and a 7/8-inch straight flute, this miniature reamer holds a diameter tolerance of +0.0002 to 0.0000 inches, making it well-suited for work where hole size and surface finish must be held close. The four-flute, right-hand cutting geometry and AlTiN coating extend tool life in harder workpiece materials. Machinists and tool room operators use this reamer in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills where dimensional accuracy is critical.
This chucking reamer is used in holemaking operations that require a finished bore diameter of 0.1575 inches, falling within the 0.1500 to 0.1999-inch miniature diameter range. It is suitable for production and job-shop environments handling small-diameter precision bores in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly in standard collet chucks and drill chucks without modification. It is part of the Harvey Tool Miniature Reamers series, targeting applications in aerospace, medical device, mold and die, and general precision machining where standard-size reamers are too large.
Designed as a miniature chucking reamer for use in standard collet chucks and drill chucks accommodating a straight-cylindrical shank at 0.1575 inches diameter; no specific machine or fixture compatibility data was provided by the manufacturer for this SKU.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with precision holemaking tooling. Before mounting, ensure the spindle and toolholder are clean and free of debris to maintain runout within acceptable limits. Always bring the spindle to a complete stop before changing or inspecting the reamer. Do not use this tool to remove large amounts of stock; pre-drill or bore the hole to within a few thousandths of final size before reaming to achieve the specified tolerance.
