The HARVEY TOOL RSB1240-C3 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed to produce precise, finished holes in close-tolerance machining applications. Built to a 0.1240-inch diameter with a diameter tolerance of +0.0002 to 0.0000 inches, it delivers controlled, repeatable bore sizing where accuracy is critical. The reamer features a 4-flute straight configuration with right-hand cutting direction and an AlTiN coating for improved wear resistance and tool life in harder workpiece materials. With a 3-inch overall length and 3/4-inch flute length, it fits standard chucking setups on CNC mills, machining centers, and drill presses operated by machinists and tool-room professionals.
This miniature reamer is suited for small-diameter holemaking in precision components where drilled or bored holes must be brought to a tight final dimension. It is commonly used in job shops, aerospace component work, medical device manufacturing, and general precision machining. The straight-cylindrical shank at 0.1875 inches (3/16 inch) accepts standard collet and drill chuck holders without special tooling adapters. Applications span a range of materials where AlTiN coating provides thermal and abrasion resistance, including hardened steels and alloys.
Designed as an OEM-style miniature chucking reamer for use in standard collet chucks, drill chucks, and floating reamer holders accepting a 0.1875-inch straight-cylindrical shank. No specific machine model compatibility was provided in the product data.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with reaming procedures and machine tool safety. Before mounting, ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or locked out per facility lockout/tagout protocols. Seat the shank fully and concentrically in the collet or chuck to minimize runout, as even minor misalignment will affect bore quality and tool life. Do not use this reamer as a drill — always pre-drill or bore the hole to within a few thousandths of the final diameter before reaming.
