The HARVEY TOOL RSB0305-C3 is a solid carbide chucking reamer engineered for precision holemaking in miniature-diameter applications. It carries a 0.0305-inch reamer diameter with a tight tolerance of +0.0002 to 0.0000 inches, making it suitable for work where dimensional accuracy is critical. The overall length is 2 inches, with a 7/32-inch straight flute length and a 4-flute geometry in a right-hand cutting direction. An AlTiN coating improves surface hardness and heat resistance at the cutting edge. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly in standard collet chucks or drill chucks. This reamer is installed and operated by machinists, tool and die technicians, and precision fabricators working with tight-tolerance bore requirements.
The RSB0305-C3 belongs to the Harvey Tool Miniature Reamers series, intended for holemaking in small-diameter bores where standard reamers are too large. It is well suited for precision machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills performing finish-reaming passes in ferrous and nonferrous materials. The AlTiN coating makes it appropriate for harder workpiece materials where heat generation at the cutting zone is a concern. Applications include instrument components, medical device parts, mold and die work, and any scenario requiring a finish-reamed hole at approximately 0.0305 inches.
Designed as a miniature chucking reamer for use in CNC machining centers, manual mills, and drill presses equipped with collet chucks or drill chucks capable of holding a straight-cylindrical shank at this diameter range.
Miniature carbide reamers should be installed by qualified machinists familiar with small-diameter tooling. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or removing the reamer from the chuck. Carbide is brittle at small diameters — avoid side-loading, interrupted cuts, or excessive runout, which can cause tool breakage. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material and verify spindle runout is within tolerance before starting the reaming pass.
