The HARVEY TOOL DDA2187-C4 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in composite and aluminum materials. It features a 130-degree double angle point and a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating that reduces friction and extends tool life in abrasive composite substrates. The bit measures 0.2187 inches (7/32 inch) in diameter with an overall length of 3.94 inches and a flute length of 1.4972 inches. It is part of the Harvey Tool Miniature High Performance Drills series and is intended for use by machinists, composite fabricators, and precision manufacturing professionals.
This drill bit is suited for drilling aluminum and composite workpieces in light manufacturing, aerospace fabrication, and precision machine shop environments. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 0.2364-inch shank diameter is compatible with standard drill chucks and collet systems. The 6xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports chip evacuation in moderate-depth drilling operations. Right-hand spiral flutes are standard orientation for CNC and manual drilling setups. No coolant-through capability is present, so external coolant or air blast is the appropriate cooling method for composite drilling.
Designed for use in drilling aluminum and composite workpieces; part of the Harvey Tool Miniature High Performance Drills series for precision drilling in the 0.2000 to 0.2500 inch diameter range.
This bit is installed by machinists in CNC machining centers or manual drill presses using a collet or drill chuck sized for the 0.2364-inch straight shank. Ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured before drilling to prevent walking or delamination at entry and exit. No coolant-through channels are present; use external air blast or cutting fluid appropriate for the workpiece material. Inspect the cutting edge for chipping before each use, as solid carbide is brittle and sensitive to interrupted cuts or side loading.
