The HARVEY TOOL DDA0625-C4 is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in composite materials. With a 1/16 inch (0.0625 inch) diameter and an amorphous diamond coating, this bit delivers the hardness and edge retention needed to cut through abrasive composite layups without premature wear. The 130-degree double-angle point geometry reduces thrust force at entry and exit, helping control delamination. Overall length is 50.00 mm with a 10.50 mm flute length, making it suited for shallow, high-accuracy holes where tool deflection must be minimized. Machinists and composite fabricators are the primary users of this tool.
This micro drill bit is built for use in composite material applications, including carbon fiber reinforced polymer, fiberglass, and similar abrasive laminates. The amorphous diamond coating extends tool life significantly compared to uncoated carbide in these materials. It is appropriate for CNC machining centers and precision drilling fixtures where consistent hole quality and tight diameter tolerance are required. The h6 shank diameter tolerance and 3.00 mm shank diameter allow secure seating in standard collet toolholding systems.
Designed for drilling composite materials including carbon fiber and fiberglass laminates; compatible with standard 3.00 mm collet toolholding systems on CNC machining centers and precision drilling fixtures.
Installation of this tool should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with carbide tooling and composite material drilling practices. Secure the shank fully in a compatible collet or chuck before spindle operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits to prevent micro drill breakage. Always power down the machine and confirm the spindle has stopped completely before tool changes. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine manufacturer guidelines when working with small-diameter carbide tooling.
