The HARVEY TOOL 995816 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining applications. With a 1/4 inch cutting diameter, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a CVD diamond coating, this tool is built to handle abrasive materials where standard carbide or coated tools fall short. The four-flute, single-end geometry supports efficient chip evacuation while delivering a fine surface finish. A 30-degree helix angle balances cutting forces and feed rates across a wide range of materials. Centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole, giving machinists added flexibility in slotting and profiling operations.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills in production and job-shop environments. Its CVD diamond finish makes it particularly well-matched to non-ferrous and highly abrasive workpiece materials such as graphite, carbon fiber reinforced polymer, green ceramics, and high-silicon aluminum alloys. The 1/4 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets and end mill holders. With a 2-1/2 inch overall length, the tool works in most standard-reach setups without requiring extended-reach toolholding. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is compatible with conventional CNC spindle rotation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-purchase solid carbide square end mill for use in standard 1/4 inch collet chucks, ER collet systems, and end mill holders on CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Confirm spindle is fully stopped and machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended minimum clamping depth and torque the retention nut or set screw per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before production cutting, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on diamond-coated tools.
