The HARVEY TOOL 994732-C3 is a solid carbide undercut end mill designed for machining operations that require profiling, undercutting, and back-milling in confined spaces. Built with a 270-degree wrap angle and a 45-degree helix, this 4-flute tool generates a smooth, aggressive cut in a right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction. The AlTiN coating provides elevated heat and wear resistance, making this cutter well-suited for hard and abrasive workpiece materials. At 0.5 inches in diameter with a 0.427-inch length of cut and a 1/4-inch corner radius, it handles detail work where standard end mills cannot reach. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals specify this geometry for finishing passes in complex part profiles.
This undercut end mill is used in CNC machining centers for contour milling, relief cutting, and undercut profiling on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The reduced neck diameter of 0.323 inches and a 1-inch neck length allow the tool to reach into recessed pockets and channels without interference from the shank. It is a single-end tool on a 0.5-inch shank, compatible with standard ER collet systems and end mill holders commonly found in vertical and horizontal machining centers. Applications include mold and die work, aerospace component finishing, and precision part production runs where tight tolerances on undercut geometry are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and direct-fit undercut end mill for use in standard 0.5-inch end mill holders and ER collet chucks on CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended minimum engagement depth before torquing the retention mechanism. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cutting operation, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on the AlTiN coating and reduce dimensional accuracy.
