The HARVEY TOOL 994540-C3 is a miniature solid carbide corner radius end mill built for precision cutting in tight-tolerance applications. With a 0.04 inch mill diameter and a 0.01 inch corner radius, this tool is engineered for fine detail work where edge integrity and dimensional accuracy are critical. It features four flutes, a 30-degree helix angle, and an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating that extends tool life in ferrous and abrasive materials. The single-end, right-hand cutting geometry makes it compatible with standard toolholders. This tool is installed and used by machinists and CNC tooling professionals working in precision milling environments.
This end mill is suited for both roughing and finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composite materials. Its stub-length design with a 0.06 inch length of cut and 1.5 inch overall length keeps deflection low when working in shallow cavities or on small-feature geometry. The straight cylindrical shank at 0.125 inch diameter fits standard miniature toolholders. Typical applications include die and mold work, medical component machining, and aerospace detail milling where small radii and close tolerances are required.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 0.125 inch straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for CNC machining centers and manual mills configured for miniature end mill tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the toolholder collet and torque the retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout after installation before beginning a cutting pass, particularly critical at this diameter where small runout values can significantly affect surface finish and tool life.
