The HARVEY TOOL 990010 is a solid carbide engraving cutter designed for precision marking, engraving, and detail work on metallic workpieces. It features a 15-degree included angle with a tipped-off point geometry and a 0.01-inch tip diameter, making it suitable for fine-line engraving where tight detail and sharp definition are required. The single-flute design provides excellent chip clearance in shallow engraving passes. With a 1/8-inch shank and a bright uncoated finish, this cutter is ready to run in standard collet toolholders without additional preparation. It is intended for use by machinists, tool-and-die tradespeople, and CNC operators working with ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
This engraving cutter is appropriate for use on ferrous metals such as steel and iron alloys, as well as non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, and copper. It is well suited to CNC machining centers and engraving machines where shallow, high-detail passes are programmed. Typical applications include part marking, serial number engraving, logo cutting, and decorative surface work. The right-hand cutting direction is compatible with standard spindle configurations. The compact 1-1/2-inch overall length fits most toolholding setups on vertical machining centers and dedicated engraving platforms.
Designed for use on ferrous metals and non-ferrous metals as stated by the manufacturer. Compatible with standard 1/8-inch collet or ER toolholding systems on CNC machining centers and engraving machines with right-hand spindle rotation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is in a safe state before loading or unloading the cutter. Secure the 1/8-inch shank firmly in the collet to the recommended drawbar or collet nut torque specified by the toolholder manufacturer. Due to the fine tip diameter, avoid side loads or plunge forces outside the programmed toolpath to prevent tip breakage.
