The HARVEY TOOL 989762-C8 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling in non-ferrous metals, primarily aluminum alloys. It features a 0.062-inch mill diameter, a 0.186-inch reach length, and a variable helix geometry at 42 degrees that reduces chatter and improves chip evacuation at high feed rates. The TiB2 (titanium diboride) PVD coating provides lubricity and heat resistance suited to aluminum, preventing built-up edge. With three flutes and a right-hand cutting direction, this single-end tool is built for finishing and light roughing passes in tight-tolerance work. Machinists and toolroom operators working on CNC machining centers install this end mill for contoured and profiled surfaces in aluminum and similar non-ferrous materials.
This end mill is suited for CNC milling operations on aluminum alloys, copper, brass, and other non-ferrous metals where a ball-nose profile is required for 3D contouring, radius profiling, and cavity work. The 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet systems on vertical and horizontal machining centers. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC toolroom technicians. Use a properly sized collet or shrink-fit holder rated for the 1/8-inch shank diameter and verify runout before running production. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
