The HARVEY TOOL 987515-C3 is a miniature solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-precision milling in tight-tolerance applications. With a 0.015-inch cutting diameter and a 0.003-inch corner radius, this single-end tool is built for fine detail work in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating increases surface hardness and heat resistance, extending tool life in demanding cuts. Four right-hand helical flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation. The stub-length geometry keeps deflection low, making it well suited for machinists and toolmakers working at micro-scale tolerances.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and toolholder setups requiring a 1/8-inch straight cylindrical shank. It is rated for roughing and finishing passes across steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composites. The short flute length and overall 1.5-inch OAL make it a practical choice for mold and die work, medical component machining, and any application where a miniature corner radius profile is critical to part geometry.
Compatible with standard toolholders accepting a 1/8-inch straight cylindrical shank. Designed for use in CNC machining applications involving steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composites, as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the machine fully powered down and spindle at rest. Secure the 1/8-inch shank in a clean, properly sized collet or toolholder to the appropriate clamping torque per the toolholder manufacturer's specifications. Inspect the cutting edges and corner radius under magnification before use, as damage to miniature carbide tools is not always visible to the naked eye. At this diameter, even minor runout in the toolholder will significantly affect tool life and surface finish.
