The HARVEY TOOL 987154-C3 is a helical flute thread mill designed for cutting internal threads in a CNC machining environment. Built from solid carbide and finished with an AlTiN coating, this tool handles the demands of threading harder workpiece materials where heat resistance and edge retention are critical. It produces a 5/16-18 Unified National Coarse thread profile using a 3-flute helical geometry that distributes cutting forces evenly and supports chip evacuation. The cutting diameter is 0.2450 inches with a 0.9440-inch length of cut. This thread mill is intended for internal threading applications requiring a 5/16-18 thread form. It runs at 18 teeth per inch and is suited for use in materials where AlTiN coating provides thermal and wear protection, such as stainless steel, titanium, hardened steels, and similar alloys. With a 0.3125-inch shank diameter and a 3.0000-inch overall length, it fits standard CNC machining center tool holders designed for that shank size.
