The HARVEY TOOL 985108-C3 is a corner rounding end mill designed to machine convex radius profiles on workpiece edges and contours. With a 0.5 inch mill diameter and a 1/8 inch corner radius, it produces consistent, repeatable edge breaks and full radius forms in a single pass. The 4-flute geometry balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality, making it well suited for finishing operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. This tool is intended for use by machinists and toolmakers running vertical machining centers, CNC mills, or manual knee mills requiring precise radius generation on part edges.
Corner rounding end mills like the 985108-C3 are used in both production and job-shop environments wherever a specified convex radius is required on an external edge or shoulder. Typical applications include deburring with precision geometry, producing chamfer-free radius breaks on mold components, die parts, aerospace structural components, and general machining work where edge quality and dimensional accuracy are critical. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute direction make this a standard configuration compatible with conventional CNC spindle rotation.
Designed as an OEM-specification corner rounding end mill compatible with standard 1/2 inch tool holders, collets, and end mill adapters used on CNC vertical machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully and evenly in a clean, undamaged collet or end mill holder and torque the retention nut per the tool holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning cutting operations, and program feed and speed parameters appropriate to the workpiece material and depth of cut.
