The HARVEY TOOL 984016-C3 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. With a 0.25-inch mill diameter, a 0.233-inch length of cut, and 4 flutes, this single-end tool is built for high-performance finishing and contouring passes on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating provides elevated heat resistance and extended tool life under aggressive cutting conditions. This end mill is used by machinists and CNC operators running production or prototype work where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are critical.
This end mill is suited for vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills equipped with a 0.25-inch collet or chuck. Typical applications include 3D contouring, slotting, and finishing of hardened steels, stainless, titanium, and similar materials where a ball-nose profile is required. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation match standard spindle configurations. With a 300-degree wrap angle and a reduced neck diameter of 0.112 inches, this tool is well suited for reaching into cavities and recessed features without sacrificing rigidity at the shank.
Designed to fit any machine spindle or toolholder accepting a 0.25-inch shank diameter, including standard ER collet chucks and end mill holders used in CNC vertical machining centers and manual mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the tool from the toolholder. Ensure the shank is seated to the full recommended engagement depth in the collet or holder and that the collet nut is properly torqued per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, and verify runout with a dial indicator after tool change to maintain dimensional accuracy.
