The HARVEY TOOL 973812-C6 is a 4-flute, solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metal-cutting applications. With a 0.1875-inch (3/16 inch) cutting diameter and a 0.285-inch length of cut, this tool delivers clean, square-shoulder profiles in a compact geometry. The AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and hardness, making this end mill well suited for dry or high-speed cutting in ferrous and hardened materials. The variable helix geometry reduces chatter and improves surface finish. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC milling setups. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers and users of this end mill.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines where a 3/16-inch shank is accepted. The 2-inch overall length keeps the tool rigid in tight-clearance applications. The centercutting design allows plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral and slot milling. The 0.285-inch length of cut falls within the 0.2000 to 0.3000 inch length-of-cut range for this product series. Typical applications include slot milling, profiling, and step machining in steel, stainless, and similar hard materials where AlTiN coating performance is an advantage.
Designed as a single-end square end mill accepting any spindle or collet system that accommodates a 0.1875-inch (3/16 inch) shank diameter. No specific machine model compatibility is stated by the manufacturer for this part number.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Secure the shank fully in a properly sized collet or end mill holder to the recommended engagement depth before tightening. Ensure the spindle and machine are at a complete stop before inserting or removing the tool. Follow your machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards for speeds, feeds, and coolant use with AlTiN-coated carbide tooling.
