The HARVEY TOOL 973778-C6 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining applications. With a 5/64 inch (0.0780 inch) cutting diameter and a 3-flute geometry, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting performance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The variable helix design at 34 degrees reduces harmonic vibration and chatter during high-speed cuts. An AlTiN coating provides elevated heat resistance and extended tool life in abrasive materials. This single-end tool has an overall length of 1.5 inches and a 1/8 inch shank diameter, making it well suited for close-tolerance finishing and slotting work in tight part geometries.
This end mill is used in CNC milling operations on machining centers and mill-turn platforms across job shops, aerospace component production, and precision part manufacturing environments. Its 3 mm length of cut and right-hand cutting and flute direction make it appropriate for light-depth slotting, contouring, and profiling passes on small features. Machinists working with hardened steels, stainless alloys, and titanium will benefit from the AlTiN coating and variable helix combination. The centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard stocking end mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1/8 inch straight shank tool holder or collet.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before seating or removing the tool from the collet or tool holder. Verify collet size matches the 1/8 inch shank diameter and that runout is within acceptable tolerance before beginning a cut. Consult the machine manufacturer and tooling guidelines for appropriate feeds, speeds, and depth-of-cut parameters for the workpiece material.
