The HARVEY TOOL 972447-C3 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-precision milling in demanding machining environments. With a 3/64 inch (0.0470 inch) mill diameter and a 1/4 inch length of cut, this tool handles tight-tolerance work in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. A 47-degree variable helix reduces chatter and harmonics, improving surface finish and chip evacuation. This end mill is sized for CNC machining centers and manual mills where small-diameter, high-performance tooling is required.
This end mill is suited for fine detail milling, slot cutting, and profiling in die and mold work, aerospace components, and precision part manufacturing. The 5-flute configuration supports higher feed rates compared to standard 2- or 3-flute tools at this diameter, making it appropriate for finishing passes in steel, stainless, titanium, and similar hard materials. The 1/8 inch shank diameter fits standard collets and tool holders commonly found in production and job shop environments.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before loading or changing tooling. Verify collet condition and runout before use, as excessive runout at this diameter can cause premature tool failure or dimensional error. This tool is not center-cutting and should not be used for direct plunge operations.
