The HARVEY TOOL 972239-C3 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining applications. Built with four flutes and an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating, this tool delivers strong heat resistance and extended tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. The 1 mm cutting diameter and 0.117 inch length of cut make it well suited for fine detail work, micro-slot cutting, and tight-tolerance profiling. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. The extended reach geometry, with a 0.325 inch reach length, allows access to features that standard reach tools cannot address. Installed by machinists and toolroom professionals, this end mill runs in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is built for micro-milling operations where dimensional accuracy is critical. The 1 mm diameter and short 0.117 inch length of cut suit it for slotting, pocketing, and profiling in small-scale components such as mold cavities, medical device parts, aerospace components, and precision instrument housings. The centercutting design allows plunge entry. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC setups. The 1/8 inch shank diameter fits common collets and end mill holders used across light to mid-duty machining centers.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with 1/8 inch collets or end mill holders. Suited for milling ferrous metals, hardened steels, and other abrasive materials where AlTiN coating performance is required.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholding procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the 1/8 inch shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention system to the toolholder specification. Verify runout with an indicator before beginning a cutting operation, as excessive runout at this diameter will accelerate tool wear and reduce dimensional accuracy.
