The HARVEY TOOL 968832 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.5-inch mill diameter and a 3/4-inch length of cut, this single-end tool delivers controlled material removal across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. The 3-flute geometry with a 42-degree variable helix angle balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality, making it well-suited for both slotting and peripheral milling. The bright uncoated finish is standard for carbide tools run at moderate speeds or in materials where coating adhesion is less critical. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers and users of this tool.
This end mill is intended for use in vertical machining centers, CNC milling machines, and manual knee mills where a 1/2-inch shank diameter collet or end mill holder is available. It is applicable to production shops, toolrooms, and job shops performing contouring, pocketing, and profiling operations. The 3-inch overall length provides adequate reach for standard depth applications without introducing excessive overhang deflection. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC spindle rotation.
Designed for use in any CNC or manual milling machine equipped with a 1/2-inch collet, shrink-fit holder, or end mill holder accepting a 0.5-inch shank diameter.
Install into a clean, properly sized 1/2-inch collet or toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the machine or toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the shank and collet bore for chips or contamination before seating the tool. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut before engaging the tool. Never exceed the tool's rated length of cut range when programming axial depth passes.
