The HARVEY TOOL 968747-C8 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-precision milling in tight-tolerance applications. With a 3/64 inch (0.0470 inch decimal) mill diameter and three flutes, it delivers clean, accurate cuts in demanding materials. The variable helix geometry reduces chatter and harmonic vibration during cuts, improving surface finish and tool life. A Titanium Diboride (TiB2) coating adds hardness and lubricity to the cutting edges, making this end mill well suited for non-ferrous metals, composites, and other abrasive workpiece materials. This is a single-end, center-cutting tool with right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines where small-diameter, precision work is required. Typical applications include detailed profile milling, slot cutting, and finishing passes in aerospace, medical device, electronics, and tooling fabrication environments. The 1/8 inch shank diameter fits standard collets and tool holders common to most benchtop and production CNC setups. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working in precision manufacturing shops.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with 1/8 inch collets or tool holders accepting a 0.125 inch shank diameter. Suitable for milling non-ferrous metals, composites, plastics, and similar materials where small-diameter precision tooling is required.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in an e-stop state before changing tooling. Secure the shank in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and tighten to the tool holder manufacturer's specified procedure. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cutting operation, as excessive runout at this diameter can cause premature tool breakage.
