The HARVEY TOOL 967850-C3 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-precision milling in demanding machining environments. With a 0.05 inch cutting diameter and a 0.15 inch length of cut, this tool is built for fine detail work in tight geometries. It features 5 flutes with a variable helix design and an AlTiN coating, which improves heat resistance and tool life in hard and abrasive materials. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard CNC machining centers and manual mills. A 0.125 inch shank diameter and 1.5 inch overall length keep it compact for small-bore and micro-milling applications. Machinists and toolmakers in production shops are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for micro-milling and finishing passes in ferrous metals, hardened steels, and other abrasive materials where tool rigidity and edge retention are critical. The 0.05 inch diameter and short length of cut make it well-suited for fine feature work, engraving, and detailed contour milling on small components. The AlTiN coating supports dry cutting or minimal lubrication strategies. Single-end construction is standard for this diameter class. It is not center-cutting, so plunge operations are not recommended with this tool.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 0.125 inch shank diameter collet or toolholder. Not center-cutting; not suitable for direct plunge milling.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine in a full stop and locked-out state per standard lockout/tagout procedure. Verify collet size matches the 0.125 inch shank before seating. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before production cuts, as runout at this diameter class directly affects tool life and part accuracy. Do not use this tool for plunge entry; ramp or helical entry paths are required.
