The HARVEY TOOL 966730-C3 is a miniature solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. It carries a 9/64 inch (0.1406 inch) cutting diameter with a 0.0300 inch corner radius and a 1.75 inch length of cut, delivering clean edges and controlled radii in tight-tolerance applications. The AlTiN PVD coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting speeds. With four flutes in a right-hand spiral configuration and a 30-degree helix angle, this end mill is suited for both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup.
This end mill fits production and toolroom environments where miniature features, slots, and contours are required. It is centercutting and single-ended, allowing plunge entry without a pre-drilled start hole. The 3/16 inch straight-cylindrical shank seats directly into standard collet chucks and toolholders. Typical applications include die and mold work, precision component machining, and finishing of hardened or abrasive workpiece materials where a tight corner radius is a design requirement.
Compatible with standard collet chucks and toolholders accepting a 3/16 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composite materials. Part of the Harvey Tool Miniature End Mills - Corner Radius - Stub and Standard series.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician using a collet chuck or end mill holder rated for the 3/16 inch shank diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and free of debris before seating the end mill. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as concentricity is critical at miniature diameters. Follow the machine tool builder's guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when changing tooling.
