The HARVEY TOOL 962832 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in abrasive and composite materials. With a 1/2 inch mill diameter, 3/4 inch length of cut, and a CVD diamond coating, this tool delivers exceptional wear resistance and surface finish in demanding cutting environments. The four-flute, right-hand cutting geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting action. A matching 1/2 inch shank diameter provides solid tool holding in standard collets and end mill holders. Licensed machinists and CNC operators specify this end mill for production runs where tool life and dimensional accuracy are critical.
This end mill is suited for machining graphite, carbon fiber reinforced polymers, fiberglass, ceramics, and other highly abrasive non-ferrous materials where conventional coatings fail prematurely. The CVD diamond coating is applied by chemical vapor deposition, bonding directly to the carbide substrate for superior adhesion compared to PVD alternatives. At 3 inches overall length with a single-end configuration and no extended reach, it fits standard spindle setups on vertical machining centers and CNC routers handling composite or technical ceramic components.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide end mill for CNC machining centers and routers accepting 1/2 inch straight shank tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an appropriate lock-out condition before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the collet or holder to the recommended grip depth before torquing the retention nut. Inspect the CVD diamond coating for chips or delamination before each use, as a damaged coating edge can accelerate tool wear and compromise workpiece surface quality.
