The HARVEY TOOL 956360-C3 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The cutting diameter measures 0.0600 inches with a 0.312-inch length of cut and a 0.125-inch shank diameter. Overall length is 2.5 inches. The tool features a 30-degree helix angle and an AlTiN coating, which improves heat resistance and extends tool life in harder materials. Three flutes provide a balance of chip evacuation and cutting stability at small diameters. The extended reach design, with a 0.625-inch reach length, allows access to pockets and features with tighter clearance requirements. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry follow standard milling convention.
This end mill is suited for precision machining operations including slotting, profiling, and pocket milling in tool steels, hardened steels, stainless, and similar alloys. The small 0.0600-inch diameter makes it appropriate for fine-detail work, micro-milling applications, and mold and die work where tight tolerances and minimal tool deflection are required. The centercutting design allows plunge entry. It is typically installed and run by CNC machinists and toolroom professionals working on vertical machining centers or CNC mills.
Designed as a replacement-style solid carbide square end mill compatible with standard 0.125-inch shank collets and tool holders on CNC vertical machining centers and CNC mills requiring a 1/8-inch shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for tool holding and runout. Secure the 0.125-inch shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder and verify runout before cutting. At this diameter, tool deflection and runout have a significant impact on tool life and part accuracy, so use a high-precision collet whenever possible. Never exceed the manufacturer-recommended speeds and feeds for the coating and workpiece material combination.
