The HARVEY TOOL 954830-C3 is a stub-length, corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from solid carbide with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating, this tool handles steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. It measures 5/32 inch (0.1562 inches) in diameter with a 3/16-inch straight cylindrical shank, a 2-inch overall length, and a 0.030-inch corner radius. The 30-degree helix and four right-hand spiral flutes support both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. Center-cutting capability allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole.
This end mill is suited for tight-tolerance work in CNC machining centers and manual mills where a small-diameter, stub-length tool is required to minimize deflection. The short flute length of 0.235 inches provides rigidity in deep-pocket and slotting applications. It is a single-end tool intended for use with standard straight-bore toolholders. Machinists working on mold, die, medical, and aerospace components will find the stub geometry and AlTiN coating appropriate for high-heat, abrasive cutting environments.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders. Compatible with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composite workpiece materials per the HARVEY TOOL Miniature End Mills Corner Radius Stub and Standard series specifications.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per applicable shop safety procedures. Ensure the 3/16-inch shank is fully seated and clamped to the minimum recommended grip depth in the toolholder before use. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chipping before each use, as solid carbide tools are brittle and sensitive to improper handling. Consult HARVEY TOOL published speeds and feeds data for this series when programming cut parameters.
