The HARVEY TOOL 946660-C3 is a double-end corner rounding end mill designed to produce consistent radius profiles on workpiece edges in precision machining applications. Built from solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), this tool offers high hardness and heat resistance suited for aggressive cuts in ferrous and hardened materials. The 4-flute geometry provides a balance of chip clearance and cutting edge support. At 5/16 inch (0.3125 inch) mill diameter with a 0.06 mm radius, this tool targets fine edge-break and corner-rounding operations where tight dimensional control is required. It is installed and used by machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops, aerospace, medical, and general metalworking environments.
This end mill is suited for corner rounding operations on milled parts where a specific small radius must be applied to an external edge. The double-end design extends tool life by providing two usable cutting ends. The 5/16 inch shank diameter matches common collet and end mill holder sizes found on CNC machining centers and manual mills. With a tip diameter of 0.154 inch, the tool is well-suited for profiling smaller features or edges where clearance is limited. Typical materials include alloy steels, tool steels, stainless steels, and other materials where AlTiN coating performance is advantageous.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 5/16 inch shank end mill holder or collet. Part of the Harvey Tool Corner Rounding End Mills - 2 and 4 Flute - Flared series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard tool-holding procedures for solid carbide end mills. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Secure the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the collet or holder to prevent pullout during cutting. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or damage before each use, as carbide tools are brittle and should not be used if visually compromised.
