Product Description

The HARVEY TOOL 945110 is a miniature corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in tight-tolerance applications. Built from solid carbide with a bright/uncoated finish, this 4-flute, single-end tool measures 5/16 inches in diameter with a 1 inch length of cut and a 2.5 inch overall length. The 0.0100 inch corner radius reduces stress concentrations at the base of a cut, extending tool life and improving surface finish. A 30-degree helix and right-hand flute direction support efficient chip evacuation, making this tool suitable for both roughing and finishing operations.

This end mill is suited for use in vertical machining centers and CNC milling equipment where small-diameter, high-precision cuts are required. Its centercutting geometry allows plunge entry. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, aluminum, wood, and composites. The straight cylindrical shank seats in standard toolholders without additional adapters. This tool is typically used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production or prototype environments.

Key Features

  • Solid carbide construction for rigidity and wear resistance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials
  • 4-flute design balances chip load capacity with surface finish quality
  • 0.0100 inch corner radius reduces chipping and stress at cut transitions
  • Centercutting geometry enables direct plunge milling
  • Right-hand cut and right-hand flute spiral for conventional CNC milling setups
  • Normal pitch and spiral flute type for consistent chip flow in both roughing and finishing passes

Compatibility

Designed for use with standard cylindrical-bore toolholders accepting a 5/16 inch straight shank. Compatible with toolholders listed in the product specifications. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, wood, and composite workpiece materials.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's clamping torque and runout specifications. Ensure the spindle and machine are fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool. Verify shank seating depth and runout before initiating a cut. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool; apply external coolant or air blast as required by the workpiece material and cut parameters.
