The HARVEY TOOL 944280-C6 is a solid carbide, single-end ball end mill engineered for high-temperature alloy machining. It features a 0.0800-inch cutting diameter, a 0.1200-inch length of cut, and a 0.0400-inch nose radius, making it suited for tight-tolerance finishing and contouring in demanding materials. The 3-flute, variable helix design at 34 degrees promotes chip evacuation and reduces chatter, which is critical when cutting superalloys and titanium. An AlTiN Nano PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting temperatures. Machinists and CNC programmers working in aerospace, medical, and precision die applications will find this tool relevant for small-diameter work in difficult materials.
This end mill is designed primarily for roughing operations in superalloys and titanium, classified under ISO workpiece material code S. Secondary material suitability includes steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials, corresponding to ISO codes P, M, K, and H. The stub length profile, 1.5000-inch overall length, and 0.1250-inch straight-cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard 1/8-inch collet toolholders. It is a right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool with no chipbreaker and no coolant-through capability, appropriate for setups relying on flood or mist coolant externally applied.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and direct-use tool for CNC machining centers using 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical collet toolholders. Optimized for superalloy and titanium workpieces per ISO material code S, with secondary suitability for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials per ISO codes P, M, K, and H.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians using a calibrated collet or end mill holder torqued per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Confirm runout at the cutting tip before operation, as excessive runout accelerates wear on small-diameter carbide tools. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended cutting parameters for feed, speed, and depth of cut when working in superalloys or titanium.
