The HARVEY TOOL 942262-C4 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for cutting aluminum and non-ferrous materials. This single-end tool runs a 1/16 inch (0.0625 inch) mill diameter with a 0.186 inch length of cut and a 1/8 inch shank diameter. The overall length measures 1.5 inches. Three flutes with a 42-degree variable helix geometry help evacuate chips efficiently and reduce chatter during high-speed passes in aluminum alloys. The amorphous diamond PVD coating adds surface hardness and lubricity, extending tool life in abrasive non-ferrous applications. The cutter is center-cutting and runs right-hand cutting and flute direction, making it suitable for conventional plunge and side-milling operations.
This end mill is intended for machining aluminum alloys and other non-ferrous materials in milling centers, CNC routers, and manual mills capable of the high spindle speeds these small-diameter tools require. The compact 1/16 inch diameter makes it well suited for fine-detail work, narrow slots, and contour passes in parts where larger tools cannot reach. It is used in job shops, production shops, and toolrooms by machinists and CNC operators running aluminum components that demand clean surface finishes and tight tolerances.
Designed for use in the HARVEY TOOL Variable Helix End Mills for Aluminum Alloys - Square series. Primary workpiece material is aluminum and non-ferrous metals (material code N). Fits standard 1/8 inch collets and end mill holders.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the machine powered down and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the 1/8 inch shank is fully seated and properly torqued in the collet or holder before operation. Small-diameter carbide end mills are brittle - avoid side-loading beyond recommended parameters and do not use this tool on ferrous materials. Verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits before running a new tool at full depth of cut.
