The HARVEY TOOL 933310-C6 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for milling hardened steels and other hard materials up to 55 Rc. It measures 0.1562 inches in diameter with a 0.005 inch corner radius, a 0.75 inch length of cut, and a 2.5 inch overall length. The tool carries a 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank and features five flutes with a variable helix geometry. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating provides heat and wear resistance in demanding ferrous and hard-alloy applications. This end mill handles both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool, making it a practical choice for machinists working in tool and die, mold making, and precision aerospace or industrial component machining.
This end mill is designed for use in hardened steels, stainless steels, cast iron, and hard alloys. Its close pitch and variable helix reduce harmonic chatter, which is critical when machining hardened workpieces where tool deflection and vibration directly impact surface finish and dimensional accuracy. The corner radius geometry distributes cutting loads away from a sharp edge, extending tool life in interrupted cuts and full-slot applications on hard materials. It is intended for use with high-precision toolholders to maintain runout tolerances consistent with the tight mill diameter tolerance of 0.0000 to -0.0020 inches.
Designed for use in hardened steels, stainless steels, cast iron, and hard alloys up to 55 Rc. Intended for use with high-precision toolholders. Rated under the Harvey Tool End Mills for Hardened Steels - Corner Radius series.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully powered down and the machine in an e-stop or locked-out state per shop safety protocols. Use a high-precision toolholder, such as a shrink-fit or hydraulic chuck, to minimize runout and protect the tight shank tolerance (h6). Inspect the toolholder bore and shank for contamination or burrs before seating. Do not exceed the rated hardness of 55 Rc on the workpiece, as material beyond this rating falls outside the intended application range of this series.
