The HARVEY TOOL 912408-C8 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in aluminum alloys, steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and composite materials. It features a 1/8 inch mill diameter, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 1/64 inch (0.0150 inch) corner radius that protects part edges and reduces stress concentrations at inside corners. The variable helix geometry helps break up chatter and harmonics during aggressive cuts. At 1-1/2 inches overall length with a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank, this single-end tool fits standard collet chucks and high-precision toolholders used in CNC machining operations.
This end mill is built for shops running aluminum alloy components where both roughing and finishing passes are required in a single tool. The TiB2 (titanium diboride) PVD coating resists aluminum adhesion and galling, making it well suited for high-speed aluminum machining. It also performs in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, wood, and composite workpieces. The 42-degree variable helix and right-hand flute direction are optimized for climb milling strategies common in CNC milling centers and VMCs. Machinists and toolroom operators working in precision shops are the primary users of this tool.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Part of the Harvey Tool Variable Helix End Mills for Aluminum Alloys - Corner Radius series. Suitable for milling aluminum, cast iron, steel, stainless steel, wood, and composite workpieces.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Secure the shank in a high-precision collet or toolholder rated for the 1/8 inch shank diameter; confirm runout before operation. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before tool changes per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Verify tool projection and reach requirements against the workpiece setup before starting the program.
