The HARVEY TOOL 905260 is a straight-tooth Woodruff keyseat cutter designed for milling keyseat slots in shafts and workpieces across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from brazed solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and wear resistance needed for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The cutter measures 0.75 inches in diameter with a cutting width of 0.187 inches and mounts via a 3/8-inch shank. With 10 straight teeth and a bright uncoated finish, it is suited for machinists and tool-and-die technicians running keyseat operations on manual mills or CNC machining centers.
This cutter is used in applications requiring precise keyseat slots for Woodruff keys in shafts, hubs, and mechanical assemblies. It is appropriate for job shops, production machining environments, and maintenance operations where accurate slot geometry is required. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. Secondary applications cover non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, making it a versatile tool for a broad range of machining tasks.
Designed as an OEM-style Woodruff keyseat cutter for use in standard 3/8-inch shank collets and tool holders on vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers. Compatible primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. Compatible secondary workpiece materials include non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with milling cutter setup and speeds and feeds for solid carbide tooling. Secure the shank fully in a clean, properly sized collet or tool holder before operation, and verify runout is within acceptable limits before cutting. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or inspecting the cutter. Do not exceed the cutter manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material being machined.
