The HARVEY TOOL 904708 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in aluminum alloys, steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and composite materials. The cutting diameter measures 1/8 inch with a matching 1/8-inch straight cylindrical shank, a 3/8-inch length of cut, and a 1-1/2-inch overall length. Three spiral flutes with a variable helix geometry reduce chatter and harmonics during both roughing and finishing passes. The 0.0100-inch corner radius adds edge strength and helps prevent chipping at the cutting perimeter. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction make this a standard single-end centercutting tool suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills requiring tight tolerances.
This end mill is built for material-specific applications in aluminum alloys and is also rated for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, wood, and composites. The variable helix design makes it particularly effective in aluminum where chip evacuation and surface finish are critical. It fits high-precision toolholders and is appropriate for shops running tight-tolerance work in aerospace, mold making, medical, and general machining environments. The bright uncoated finish keeps the tool ready for use without post-treatment and works well in applications where coating adhesion to aluminum could cause built-up edge.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Part of the Harvey Tool Variable Helix End Mills for Aluminum Alloys - Corner Radius series and the Material Specific End Mills series. Suitable for primary workpiece material codes P, M, K, N, and O covering steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metal, and non-ISO materials.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and undamaged before seating the shank. The 1/8-inch shank requires a collet or toolholder rated to h6 shank diameter tolerance for proper runout control. Follow shop-standard torque procedures for the specific toolholder type in use.
