The HARVEY TOOL 894262-C3 is a miniature solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding applications. With a 1/16 inch (0.0625 inch) cutting diameter and a 3/8 inch length of cut, this single-end tool is built for tight-tolerance work in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, and CFRP materials. The 3-flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining surface finish quality. An AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and hardness, extending tool life in high-heat cutting environments. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working with miniature features will find this tool suited for slots, pockets, and profile passes in both ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces.
This end mill is positioned within the Long Flute series of Harvey Tool miniature square end mills, targeting applications where a longer length of cut relative to diameter is required. It is centercutting, allowing direct plunge entry into the workpiece. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC machining center setups. Typical applications include precision component milling in aerospace, medical device, mold and die, and general metalworking production environments where small-feature geometry demands tight dimensional control.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1/8 inch shank diameter collet or toolholder. Compatible with workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, and CFRP composite materials per manufacturer specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician familiar with small-diameter carbide tooling. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before inserting or removing the tool. Use a precision collet or toolholder sized for the 1/8 inch shank to minimize runout, as excessive runout will accelerate tool wear or cause breakage in small-diameter carbide tools. Consult the machine manufacturer and tooling supplier documentation for appropriate speeds, feeds, and depth-of-cut parameters before running the tool.
