The HARVEY TOOL 892708-C6 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for finishing operations in high-temperature alloys, hardened steels, stainless steel, and cast iron. Built with a 7-flute variable helix geometry, it reduces chatter and improves surface finish in difficult-to-machine materials. The cutting diameter is 0.1250 inches with a 0.0300-inch corner radius, a 3/8-inch length of cut, and a 1-1/2-inch overall length. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. This tool is a single-end, right-hand cut, right-hand flute design intended for use in close-pitch finishing passes.
This end mill is suited for finishing applications in aerospace, medical, die and mold, and precision machining environments where tight tolerances and superior surface finish are required. It performs in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard alloys. The 41-degree helix angle and variable helix construction help manage heat and vibration in high-temp alloy cuts. It is designed for use with high precision toolholders to maximize runout control and tool life. The straight cylindrical shank measures 1/8 inch in diameter, matching the cutting diameter for straightforward collet clamping.
Designed for finishing operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard alloys. Recommended for use with high precision toolholders. Part of the Harvey Tool Variable Helix End Mills for High Temp Alloys - Finishers - Corner Radius series and the Material Specific End Mills series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Seat the straight cylindrical shank fully and evenly in a high-precision collet or toolholder before tightening to minimize runout. Verify spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut against the material-specific cutting data for solid carbide end mills before engaging the workpiece. Do not use this tool in a worn or damaged toolholder, as runout at this diameter will significantly reduce tool life and surface finish quality.
