The HARVEY TOOL 888462-C3 is a miniature solid carbide square end mill designed for precision machining in tight geometries and small-feature applications. With a 1/16 inch (0.0625 inch) cutting diameter and a 1/4 inch length of cut, this tool delivers controlled material removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and CFRP materials. The AlTiN coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life under high-speed cutting conditions. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation, and the three-flute geometry balances rigidity with chip clearance. Centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. This end mill is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators working with precision toolpaths.
This end mill is suited for small-feature milling, slotting, profiling, and plunge operations in both prototype and production environments. The long-flute, miniature configuration makes it appropriate for applications requiring extended reach relative to the cutting diameter, such as deep pocket milling on small components. Compatible primary workpiece materials include steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), aluminum and non-ferrous (N), and CFRP composites (C). It is a single-end tool on a 1/8 inch shank with a 2-1/2 inch overall length, fitting standard 1/8 inch collet or end mill holders.
Designed for use in standard 1/8 inch collet chucks or end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual mills. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and CFRP composites, per manufacturer material codes P, M, K, N, and C.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Ensure the 1/8 inch shank is fully seated and properly torqued in the collet or tool holder per machine manufacturer specifications. At this diameter, tool runout is critical - verify TIR before production use. Do not exceed manufacturer-recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and coating type.
