The HARVEY TOOL 885262-C6 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The tool measures 1/16 inch (0.0625 inches) in cutting diameter with a 5/16 inch (0.312 inches) length of cut and a 2-1/2 inch overall length. Five flutes and a variable 37-degree helix angle work together to improve chip evacuation and surface finish in demanding applications. The AlTiN coating adds thermal resistance and extends tool life in high-temperature cutting environments. This end mill is single-end, right-hand cutting, and center-cutting, making it suitable for plunge entry and full-slot milling. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with tight-tolerance features will find this geometry well-suited to small-diameter work.
This tool is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where small-diameter, high-precision cuts are required. Typical applications include slotting, profiling, and pocketing in hardened steels, stainless steels, and high-temperature alloys. The 1/4 inch shank diameter provides compatibility with standard collets and tool holders commonly found in production and job-shop environments. The variable helix design reduces harmonic chatter during long-run operations, making it a practical choice for finishing passes on difficult materials.
Designed for use with standard 1/4 inch collets and tool holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Compatible with applications requiring small-diameter square end mills in solid carbide with AlTiN coating.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's tooling specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the 1/4 inch shank fully and evenly in the collet before torquing the nut to the collet manufacturer's specification. Inspect the tool for chips or coating damage before each use, particularly given the small 1/16 inch diameter which is susceptible to breakage under lateral overload.
