The HARVEY TOOL 885047-C3 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision finishing operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built in the Miniature End Mills - Corner Radius - Long Flute series, it features a 0.047-inch mill diameter, a 1/4-inch length of cut, and a 0.015-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at part edges. The 4-flute, right-hand helical geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation. An AlTiN PVD coating adds heat resistance and wear life, making this tool well-suited for steel, stainless steel, and cast iron finishing passes where tight tolerances are required.
This end mill is used in CNC milling applications requiring small-diameter, long-reach cutting capability. Its 2.5-inch overall length and 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank allow it to reach into deep pockets, slots, and profiles while maintaining rigidity for finishing cuts. It is center-cutting and handles right-hand cutting direction. Typical users include toolmakers, precision machinists, and CNC programmers working with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composite materials in mold, die, and precision component work.
Designed for use with standard CNC toolholders accepting a 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composites in finishing applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's clamping specifications. Ensure the toolholder bore and collet are clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a finishing pass, as small-diameter carbide tools are sensitive to radial runout. Never use this tool beyond its rated length of cut or at feeds and speeds outside the manufacturer's recommended parameters for the workpiece material.
