The HARVEY TOOL 883293 is a spherical carbide abrasive bur designed for material removal, deburring, and contouring in demanding machining applications. Built with a double-cut tooth pattern on a ball-shaped head, it delivers aggressive stock removal with reduced chatter. The carbide head measures 0.0938 inches in cutting diameter with a length of cut of 0.079 inches and mounts on a 1/8-inch shank. Overall length is 2 inches. The uncoated carbide construction provides hardness and edge retention across a wide range of workpiece materials. This bur is installed by machinists, tool and die makers, and fabricators working with rotary tools, die grinders, and flexible shaft machines.
This ball bur is suited for work in tight contours, radiused pockets, and spherical recesses where flat or cylindrical burs cannot reach. Applicable materials include aluminum, cast iron, steel, stainless steel, wood, and composites, making it a versatile choice for both metal fabrication shops and woodworking operations. The 270-degree included angle of the ball head geometry supports smooth surface blending in concave and convex profiles. It is sold individually and is appropriate for both production and maintenance-level material finishing tasks.
Compatible with rotary tools, die grinders, and flexible shaft machines accepting a 1/8-inch shank. Rated for use on aluminum, cast iron, steel, stainless steel, wood, and composites per manufacturer specification.
Installation is performed by machinists or fabricators using a collet-type rotary tool or die grinder. Confirm the tool is fully powered down and the collet is released before inserting or removing the bur. Secure the shank fully within the collet to the recommended insertion depth before tightening. Always wear appropriate eye protection and follow applicable workplace safety standards when operating rotary cutting tools.
