The HARVEY TOOL 882324-C6 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in hardened steels ranging from 45 to 68 Rc. It features a 3/8-inch mill diameter, a 1-1/8-inch length of cut, and a 1/64-inch (0.0150-inch) corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge. The 7-flute, right-hand helical geometry supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single pass. An AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extends tool life in demanding cutting environments. This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers with high-precision toolholders.
This end mill is built for machining hardened steels, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard alloys, making it well-suited for die and mold work, aerospace components, and precision tooling applications where tight tolerances and surface finish are critical. The variable helix design reduces harmonic chatter, which is especially important at elevated cutting depths in hardened materials. It is a single-end tool with a straight cylindrical shank and is sized for setups where a 3/8-inch shank diameter fits the toolholder specification. It is typically installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops or production machining environments.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard alloys. Part of the HARVEY TOOL End Mills for Hardened Steels - Corner Radius series, rated for steels at 45-68 Rc.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with CNC milling setups. Secure the shank in a high-precision toolholder to the toolholder manufacturer's specified clamping procedure before initiating any cutting cycle. Verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits prior to engaging the workpiece, as excess runout accelerates edge wear on multi-flute carbide tooling. Follow the cutting tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece hardness and material grade.
