The HARVEY TOOL 879231-C8 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in tight-tolerance applications. It features a 1/32 inch (0.0310 inch) cutting diameter and a 3/64 inch (0.047 inch) length of cut, making it well suited for fine detail work and micro-machining operations. The 42-degree variable helix geometry reduces chatter and improves chip evacuation, while the Titanium Diboride (TiB2) coating provides hardness and lubricity for improved tool life. Three flutes deliver a balance of chip clearance and rigidity at this small diameter. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration follows standard CNC milling convention. Extended reach with a 3/8 inch reach length allows access to recessed features without sacrificing stability.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers handling ferrous and non-ferrous materials where small-diameter, high-precision cuts are required. The centercutting design enables plunge entry, useful in die and mold work, aerospace component machining, and medical device manufacturing. The 1/8 inch shank diameter fits standard ER11 and ER16 collet systems commonly used on compact CNC mills and high-speed spindles. It is a single-end tool sold individually.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles equipped with collet systems that accept a 1/8 inch shank diameter, such as ER11 or ER16 collets. Suitable for milling ferrous and non-ferrous materials in precision machining environments.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet to the recommended engagement depth and torque the collet nut per the collet manufacturer specification. At this small diameter, verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting to avoid premature tool breakage.
