The HARVEY TOOL 877208-C3 is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision finishing in hard materials, steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. With a 1/8 inch mill diameter and a 3/4 inch length of cut, this long-flute tool is built for deep-reach profiling and contouring in tight geometries. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection, making it suitable for high-speed machining without coolant. Three right-hand helical flutes with a variable 20-degree helix angle promote chip evacuation and reduce chatter in challenging workpiece materials. Machinists and CNC operators working in die-mold, aerospace, and precision component shops are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for finishing operations in hard materials where a long-flute reach is required. The 3/4 inch reach length and 2.5 inch overall length allow access to deep pockets, slots, and contoured surfaces that shorter tools cannot reach. Its single-end configuration and straight cylindrical 1/8 inch shank fit standard collet systems commonly used in vertical machining centers and CNC routers. Primary workpiece materials include hard material grades as well as steel, stainless steel, and cast iron.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines accepting a 1/8 inch straight cylindrical shank. Rated for hard materials, steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces. Part of the Harvey Tool Miniature End Mills - Ball - Long Flute series.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Seat the shank fully in the collet and torque the collet nut per the collet manufacturer specification before running. Verify runout with a dial indicator after mounting, as excessive runout on miniature tooling accelerates wear and can cause premature breakage. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material being machined.
