The HARVEY TOOL 876445-C3 is a solid carbide chamfer mill designed for precise edge-breaking, chamfering, and deburring operations on metal workpieces. The tool features a 1/4 inch cutter head diameter, four flutes for efficient chip evacuation, and an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating that extends tool life in high-heat cutting environments. With a 2-1/2 inch overall length and a 1/4 inch shank diameter, it fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders. Right-hand cutting geometry produces clean, consistent chamfers on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Machinists and toolroom technicians use this mill in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills wherever controlled edge preparation is required.
This chamfer mill is suited for production and job-shop environments where repeatable chamfer geometry is critical. Its compact diameter and solid carbide construction make it effective on hardened steels, stainless, aluminum alloys, and similar engineering materials. Typical applications include part deburring, countersinking, and lead-in chamfering on drilled or bored holes. The AlTiN coating provides oxidation resistance at elevated spindle speeds, making it a practical choice for high-speed machining operations where tool longevity matters.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use chamfer mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1/4 inch shank diameter toolholder or collet.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with rotating cutting tool safety. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before loading or unloading the tool. Secure the shank firmly in a properly sized collet or end mill holder to the toolholder manufacturer's specified clamping procedure. Always verify spindle speed and feed rate recommendations for the workpiece material and coating type before beginning the cut.
