The HARVEY TOOL 874932 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. It features a 1/2-inch cutting diameter, a 2-inch length of cut (LOC), and a 4-inch overall length (OAL), making it well-suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling. The 2-flute configuration with a 20-degree helix angle and upcut slow-spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation. Centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry into workpiece material. The bright, uncoated finish preserves the sharp carbide edge and is appropriate for use in a wide range of materials where coating is not required. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in production and job-shop settings.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a standard 2-flute geometry is preferred. The 1/2-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and milling machine spindles commonly found in vertical machining centers and manual knee mills. The 2-inch LOC provides adequate reach for medium-depth cuts without excessive tool deflection. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional CNC and manual milling setups.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill compatible with standard 1/2-inch end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and milling spindles used in CNC vertical machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before securing or removing the tool from its holder. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the collet or set-screw holder is torqued to the machine manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before use, as carbide tooling is brittle and should not be forced into interrupted cuts beyond recommended parameters.
