The HARVEY TOOL 866262 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metal, composites, and other hard materials. With a 1/16 inch cutter diameter and a 5/16 inch length of cut, this tool is built for tight-tolerance work in confined features, slots, and pockets. The 2-flute, single-end geometry with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation at small diameters. The bright uncoated finish suits applications where coating interaction with the workpiece is a concern. At 2 inches overall length and a 1/8 inch shank diameter, it fits standard collet systems used in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is suited for light finishing passes, small-feature profiling, and slotting operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The small diameter makes it well matched to die work, mold cavities, and precision component machining in job shop and production environments. The right-hand cutting direction and upcut flute geometry are standard for conventional CNC vertical milling setups. Machinists working in aerospace, medical device, and tooling applications will find this geometry appropriate for detail work requiring dimensional accuracy.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide square end mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with a 1/8 inch collet or end mill holder.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the 1/8 inch shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention hardware per the tool holder manufacturer specification. At this diameter, tool runout must be minimized - check with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout will cause premature breakage in solid carbide tooling of this size.
