The HARVEY TOOL 866012-C3 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metal-cutting applications. The tool features a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) mill diameter, a 0.06 inch corner radius, and an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating that supports high-heat cutting conditions. With 3 right-hand helical flutes at a 30-degree helix angle and a stub flute length of approximately 0.117 inches, this end mill is built for both roughing and finishing operations where extended reach is required. A 1.5 inch reach length and 3 inch overall length make it suitable for deep-pocket and hard-to-access features on the workpiece.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where tight-tolerance corner radii are required. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composites. The single-end, centercutting design with a straight cylindrical shank accepts standard toolholders. It is particularly well suited for miniature and detailed part work where a long-reach, stub-flute geometry reduces deflection while maintaining access to confined features.
Compatible with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) shank diameter. Rated for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composite workpiece materials per the HARVEY TOOL Miniature End Mills - Corner Radius - Long Reach, Stub Flute series.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician using a compatible toolholder and appropriate retention torque per the toolholder manufacturer's specifications. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool change sequence is complete before handling the end mill. Inspect the shank and collet bore for contamination or damage before seating. Extended-reach tools are more sensitive to runout, so verify holder concentricity with a dial indicator before first use.
