The HARVEY TOOL 864962 is a miniature corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in tight-geometry applications. It features a 0.062-inch cutting diameter, a 0.010-inch corner radius, and a 2-flute solid carbide construction. The extended-reach geometry gives it a 5/16-inch reach length and a 0.186-inch length of cut, making it well-suited for deep-pocket and long-reach milling tasks where standard-length tools cannot access the workzone. The 30-degree helical flute configuration supports both roughing and finishing passes, and the uncoated bright finish is appropriate for direct use across a range of workpiece materials without added coating thickness that could affect dimensional accuracy at this scale.
This end mill is built for machinists and toolroom operators working on small, close-tolerance components in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, composites, and wood. Its miniature diameter and long-reach body make it a practical choice for die and mold work, medical device components, aerospace detail parts, and any application requiring access to narrow slots or recessed floor radii. It is a single-end, right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool intended for use with a standard straight-bore toolholder accepting a 1/8-inch shank.
Designed for use with toolholders accepting a 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, composites, and wood as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician on a CNC or manual milling machine. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and free of chips before loading. Seat the shank fully to the minimum insertion depth recommended for the toolholder type to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Verify runout with a dial indicator after tightening, as miniature-diameter end mills are especially sensitive to concentricity errors that can cause premature breakage.
